Grassy Mountain: LOCATION & CLIMATE
The Grassy Mountain Property is located in northern Malheur County, Oregon, approximately 22 miles southwest of Vale, Oregon. The property is accessed by travelling 4 miles west from Vale on US Highway 20, then south on the Twin Springs County Road for 23 miles, or by driving south from Nyssa, Oregon on US Highway 95 to Owyhee and then west to Rock Springs Canyon and by gravel road for 14 miles.
The Grassy Mountain Property is located in the semi-arid plateau region of eastern Oregon, which is characterized as high mountain desert with cold winters and warm to hot summers. Typical extreme temperatures for summer and winter are 100° F and minus 20° F, respectively. The property elevation ranges from 3,300 to 4,300 feet. The estimated annual precipitation at the property site is 10.2 inches with most of it occurring in the months of March through October.
